Raising, Breeding, and Training Registered Chincoteague Ponies

Mares

Welcome to our mare page! Here is a list of our current breeding/riding mares as well as a small description of each. All of our mares are "land bred" meaning that their parents or  great grandparents were born on Assateague Island while our mares themselves were born and raised in captivity. Each one of our mares is special to us and they are excellent representations of the Chincoteague breed.

Liberty is one of my top broodmares. She produces wonderful colts with our stallion Cyclone. Her babies have stellar personalities and they also have beautiful markings. She has had two foals with Cyclone to date and both have had lovely white socks, pretty stars as well as tri-color manes and tails. They have a stocky build and extremely nice heads and legs. They also love to jump!

Liberty and her full sister Hope were the first two Chincoteague ponies that we purchased in the winter of 2009.

Hope is another one of my mares. I so enjoy her so much! She has big soft brown eyes that sparkle with eagerness when she is asked to perform a trick or anything that involves food. She has so much energy I don’t think she could ever be tired. She is the most stunning bay I have ever seen! Perfectly solid with a jet black mane and tail as well as amazing dapples that are especially attractive when she dawns her sleek summer coat. She is one flashy girl! I have had the pleasure of competing with her in open shows, 4-H, and in a pony shows. She is so much fun to show in liberty classes for she has some amazing leg action!

Pixie is a gorgeous palomino pinto Chincoteague pony and one of the best Misty look-a-likes out there! She was named after Marguerite Henry's dog "Pixie". I fell in love with her the very first time I laid eyes on her and she hasn't ever disappointed me! Through the years I have owned her she has competed at open shows and has had a very successful 4-H carrier. She has even been to the Minnesota State fair grounds for the Horse Expo and for the State 4-H horse show.  She is a very social pony and loves to go places to meet new people. I am so incredibly blessed to have such a special pony.
